The season is being led by the Festival’s newly named Artistic Director, William Ransom, who recently succeeded the Festival’s founder and General and Artistic Director Christopher Rex who passed away last March. Ransom is the Mary Emerson Professor of Piano at Emory University, the founder and Artistic Director of the Emory Chamber Music Society of Atlanta, and the Artistic Director of the Highlands-Cashiers Chamber Music Festival.

Upon announcing the season, Ransom said, “I am truly honored to follow in the footsteps of my friend and colleague, Christopher Rex, and to help launch the 22nd Season that reflects Chris’ work and passion.” Ransom added, “This season promises an exceptional lineup of the best musical talent from around the world. Personally, I look forward to engaging with the Amelia Island community and helping to inspire a whole new generation of Festival fans.”

The 22nd Festival season will incorporate many fun social events being planned in conjunction with several of the concerts. Festival Board President Anne Coonrod noted that, “We are excited to bring back opportunities where concert attendees can mingle and enjoy a glass of wine or cocktail before and after several of the performances.” Coonrod continued, “Concerts often sell out and music lovers should consider becoming a Festival contributor to enjoy the benefit of early ticket sales and not be left out of what promises to be an extremely engaging year.”
