Performing as the University of North Florida Big Band Ensemble, the UNF Jazz Ensemble One is the flagship band of the school’s prestigious Jazz Studies Program. The band, which is considered one of the world’s finest collegiate jazz ensembles, has been recognized by such publications as Cadence, Jazz Times, Jazz Educators Journal and DownBeat Magazine for its improvisational prowess and precision ensemble playing. The ensemble was the first collegiate winner of the prestigious Monterey Next Generation Festival in California and has performed at prestigious stages in the U.S., Europe and Asia.
